Excellent Network Upgrade
I bought this to upgrade my network from an AmpliFi and an Untangle box, and it has replaced about five devices. It’s doing an excellent job. The neighbor’s network is securely isolated, preventing any data theft. The network speed is excellent. While it might be overkill for my needs, it performs exceptionally well. I can’t speak to its effectiveness on a larger network, but for my purposes, it’s perfect.

Outstanding Router with Superior Quality and Design
I’ve used Apple Airport Extremes, Netgear Orbi, and several other routers in the past, but this system greatly exceeds all of them. It has been extremely reliable, and the quality and design of both the hardware and software are top-notch.
The user interface is extremely easy to use, whether it’s the web interface (Chrome only, currently no support for Safari) or the iOS app (which includes about 99% of the features). The amount of information available is vast and beautifully presented, reminiscent of the first time I switched from Windows to Mac.
Setting up the router wasn’t entirely seamless as it got stuck while connecting to the internet to create/verify my Unifi account. I had to use my iPad’s hotspot to bypass the router’s internet connection for this step, which resolved the issue. It seems others have experienced the same problem, so I hope Ubiquiti addresses it soon. Beyond that hiccup, it has been flawless.

After much deliberation, I finally decided to purchase this Ubiquiti router, considering my positive experiences with other Ubiquiti equipment. I must say, I wish I had made this decision sooner.
The router’s features, such as content filters and SSID scheduling, have greatly appeased my wife’s concerns about our kids’ internet usage during specific hours. One notable improvement is the recent firmware update, which eliminates the need for complex CLI commands to configure features like Express VPN. Now, setting up VPN benefits for the entire network is as simple as adding the configuration in the user interface.
Since I already have several Ubiquiti APs, I don’t broadcast my main SSIDs from the router but do broadcast the guest Wi-Fi. Feedback from my kids’ friends confirms that the Wi-Fi is not only easy to connect to but also incredibly fast. Testing on the guest network further validates the router’s excellent Wi-Fi broadcasting capabilities.
Overall, I’m highly impressed with this Ubiquiti router and its advanced features, making it a solid choice for home networking needs.
