After encountering difficulties with the setup process of the HP 3001dwe, I opted for a model without the ‘w’ and ‘e’ designations, omitting the wireless connection and HP+ features. Instead, I downloaded the full HP 4001 driver for Windows PC directly from HP’s website, as the HP Easy Setup proved to be challenging and not as user-friendly as expected.
I chose not to attempt setup on a Mac this time, given the previous issues with the 3001dwe model. Additionally, I caution against using HP+ and the pairing code to activate it on your HP Smart account, as it may pose risks to your network security. Fortunately, with this non-‘e’ model, such steps are unnecessary, allowing for straightforward usage without the need for pairing.
Overall, while the initial setup process had its challenges, the printer functions well once properly installed with the appropriate driver.”

Be sure to read the setup instructions carefully, as getting this printer up and running is quite challenging. The process isn’t intuitive and requires a cloud connection to complete. However, once the setup is correctly done, the printer performs beautifully. Despite the initial difficulty, it delivers excellent results.
